Hi All - quiet in here isn't it???!!

Quick review of Cambridge gig.

Really good crowd. Everyone knew the words to the new album and M.
Smith looked really in awe of everyone - clearly enjoying himself!

High points:
* My Glorious - perhaps their finest song - and this was the best I've
ever heard it. The crowd were singing in three parts at the end.
Amazing!
* Great venue - come back D!
* The usual worship-rock fusion. Effortlessly sliding from one to the
other. Delirious seem to have really succeeded in combining worship
and big gig together. A few years ago it all felt a bit wrong to me,
but now it's marvellous. (Or maybe it's just that I'bve changed... :-)
* The first half of "King or Cripple"
* The promise of a new and bigger tour later in the year!!!

Low points:
* AWFUL sound quality!!! The guys need to get this sorted out for the
rest of the tour. Couldn't hear the vocals at all for 1st couple of
songs. Only improved when my Bro went over to the sound guy and told
him so. Guitars really low in the mix and drums way way too loud. No
keyboards except on the quiet bits of the quiet songs. Oh, and hardly
any bass. I think it may be a new sound guy or possibly a last minute
replacement. Not the regular guy anyway.
* Where was the loud half of King or Cripple?????

All in all a great night. I lost my voice and couldn't talk on
Fri/Sat/Sun. Just managing a few words now! :-)

Peace.

Wow....

:oD Can't wait till Thursday (Brum gig). It's my sister's birthday
tomorrow, and she's coming up here to see them as a b'day pressie from me -
will be great to see her again AND to see d: again.

Yay!

Another thing that struck me was how many kids there were around. I
mean small kids (<10 I would say). I thought <14's weren't allowed in?
Anyway, I thought it was really nice - a big family crowd. Don't know
if the kids enjoyed it though. One particular 6 year old didn't look
too happy coz she couldn't see a thing. I offered her a lift up but
her mum veto'd the idea. Oh well...

I reckon all the original "cutting edge" D:fans are now bringing their
kids along!

Anyway Liz, enjoy the Brum gig!

Hmm, doubt it'll be like that at the Academy. Mums'd be scared to take kids
in there.... !!

Thanks for the Cambridge review.

I'm going to the Liverpool cathedral gig on Saturday. They've nearly sold
out their 3,000 tickets, so it should be quite a crowd!

The acoustics in Liverpool Cathedral are usually awful, so I don't know how
they'll get it right for a full Cathedral.
